Soldiers Prayer

As we all enjoy this three day Labor Day weekend, let us pause and say a prayer
for our soldiers who work tirelessly for us:

Gracious God, I pray for our soldiers.  Let your grace be a protective shield,
guarding them from harm and keeping them close to your love and compasssion.
Let them feel, O God, deep in their hearts, that your love is always there -
boundlessly, unconditionally, and eternally.  Amen

SWEET DREAMS

Night comes earlier each day this time of year.  As we retire into our
homes at darkness, we need to retire into our hearts and pray in
the stillness of night.  We should reflect in silence on the past day
and examine our conscience for things we could have done better,
could have avoided and how we can do better tomorrow.  The
Lord forgives us and we should be incredibly thankful for that
and all the Blessings that he gives us.  As we lay our heads
down in sleep, the Lord will watch over us and protect us
till light shines again.  We can all have sweet dreams knowing
that.

PRAYER

While distractions draw us away from the road to real happiness, prayer
brings us back to what is real and authentic.  Prayer makes us free, gives
us the opportunity to speak to God as our friend and confidant and makes
us think long and hard about what it is that we want God to do for ourselves
and others.  We also take time to think of all the Blessings our Lord has
showered upon us and give gratitude to Him.  Prayer can be the best
time of day for all of us.

Psalm 27 Verse 1 & 5

One of the best:

The Lord is my light and my salvation;
   whom do I fear?
The Lord is my life's refuge;
  of whom am I afraid?

For God will hide me in his shelter
   in time of trouble,
Will conceal me in the cover of his
   tent;
  and set me high upon a rock.

It's Sunday ~ let's take one moment

Today is Sunday and I hope that everyone took a moment to thank
our Lord for all He has given us.  He gave us life, even though it is
a struggle most days.  He gives us love and forgiveness and He is
always there for us whenever we need Him or want to talk to Him.
I hope we all said a small prayer today to thank Him, ask for
forgiveness or maybe to just tell Him how much we love Him.
If we forgot, we should do it right now.

Living Every Day with our Lord

Living every day with our Lord and trying to follow our Lord is so hard
in this secular world that we live in.  It takes a lot of commitment and
hard work to try to see God in everyone and everything.  It is a very
humbling experience to really examine our conscience at the end of
the day - did I lie, gossip, lust, cheat - we have to be very honest
about ourselves in order to better ourselves.  But...... each day is
a new day and we need to use it wisely.
